Just in case you didn't know already, there is this really great theatre right down the street (just north of Lawrence - 4802 N. Lawrence Ave) called The Gift Theatre. They put on some awesome shows and are getting ready to start up their 2013 season. This year the theatre has three shows scheduled, along with their long standing Wednesday night improv comedy show, "Natural Gas".
Perhaps you've seen this guy.. This is Michael Patrick Thornton, Co-Founder, ensemble member and one of the main stage players of Natural Gas. You've probably see him a lot at Fischman's... usually shortly after a show and most likely holding a Kwak, or any one of the other delicious craft beers currently on tap. If you see him, feel free to say hi, chat him up about a show or the theatre. He's one of the nicest guys you could meet.
If you haven't been to a show at The Gift yet, you don't know what your missing. Also, starting this week, when you see any of the shows, they will be giving guests a "coaster" that can be taken back to Fischmans. Present the coaster to your bartender at the bar and 10% of your tab will be donated to The Gift Theatre! We are happy to be able to give back to the theatre that provides so much enjoyment for our community!
Did you know that the gift offers subscriptions to their shows? Each subscription pack includes FREE admission to ALL of the Wednesday night improv shows. And if you have ever been to an improv show, you know that no two shows are the same!
